Working Hours
Our team is based in Tokyo and works Monday through Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 JST. We respond to initial inquiries within one business day.
For clients in other time zones, we schedule synchronous sessions at mutually convenient times. Most of our work is asynchronous, so time zone differences rarely become a significant obstacle.
Scheduling an Engagement
After an initial conversation where we understand your environment and scope, we confirm availability and provide a proposed start date. We work with a limited number of clients at a time to ensure each engagement receives proper attention.
We recommend reaching out a few weeks before you'd like to start. For time-sensitive situations, contact us and we'll be direct about what's possible.
Typical Duration
A focused audit typically takes between one and two weeks from access to report delivery. A comprehensive audit covering all three dimensions generally takes two to four weeks, depending on the complexity of your environment.
We confirm the expected timeline before starting and keep you informed throughout. If the scope changes or complexity warrants more time, we discuss that with you rather than silently extending.
Remote-First
All audit work is conducted remotely. We don't need physical access to your office or hardware. Access is provided through cloud console credentials with appropriate read-only permissions.
We work with startups across Japan and internationally. Language of delivery is English, with Japanese available for direct communication where preferred.
From first message to final report.
Initial Inquiry
You reach out via the contact form or email. We respond within one business day to acknowledge and ask a few initial questions about your environment and what you're hoping to learn.
Scoping Conversation
We schedule a call to understand your environment, your team's concerns, and your growth context. This shapes the audit scope. After the call, we provide a written scope document for your review.
Agreement and Access
Once scope is agreed, we finalize the engagement agreement and provide clear instructions for granting read-only access. This step moves as fast as your team can action it.
Audit Work
We conduct the analysis. We may reach out during this phase with clarifying questions. You don't need to be available continuously, but we appreciate prompt responses to questions when they arise.
Report and Walkthrough
We deliver the written report and schedule the team walkthrough session. After the walkthrough, we revoke access and open the follow-up window for post-delivery questions.
Things people usually ask.
Read-only access to your cloud console, billing exports, and configuration data. We provide a specific checklist before starting so you know precisely what we're requesting and why. We never request write permissions or production access beyond what's needed to read configuration.
No. We only read and analyze. We don't make configuration changes, we don't run load tests, and we don't interact with running workloads. The audit is entirely observational from your environment's perspective.
Data collected during an audit is used solely for the purpose of that audit. We document retention and deletion terms in the engagement agreement. After the engagement concludes and the follow-up window closes, all collected data is deleted according to the agreed schedule.
The audit itself produces findings and recommendations for your team to act on. Implementation is typically carried out by your engineering team. If you're interested in follow-on implementation support, reach out and we can discuss what that might look like for your situation.
It depends on your environment's complexity. If you're running production workloads, have more than a handful of services, or are approaching a fundraise where technical due diligence is likely, an audit can be valuable. If you're still in early development with a minimal setup, it may be premature. We'll tell you honestly which situation you're in.
